Lancaster EMS is currently recruiting a Full-time Community Paramedic Field Provider.
The Lancaster EMS Community Paramedic Field Provider will primarily respond to low acuity 911 calls; respond to calls that result in no transport during working hours; follow up with patients who refuse transport during non-working hours via phone and in person; provide healthcare navigation, clinical, or community resources to reduce preventable hospital admissions; utilize alternative options to unnecessary 9-1-1 ambulance transport.
At times, circumstances may arise when the Community Paramedic Field Provider encounters a higher acuity 9-1-1 patient that requires Advanced Life Support (ALS) care; such instances should be managed in accordance within the guidelines of the PA EMS Act, PA DOH Scope of Practice, PA DOH ALS protocols, and Lancaster EMS policies and standard operating guidelines.

With a primary role of paramedic on a MICU ambulance, the Lieutenant provides frontline leadership to the clinical workforce.
