Education for New Parents

Lancaster EMS provides several educational resources for new parents.

New Parent Program

Introducing a new member of your family can be a joyful experience. Most new parents have questions about the health and safety of their newborn. Lancaster EMS has developed a program dedicated to families with newborns.

Our New Parent Program covers topics such as:

Each New Parent Program is catered to your individual needs. The Program generally lasts about two hours.

The cost of the Program, including all provided educational material, is $160.

A community paramedic will come to your home to provide the education and two CPR certifications. If you wish, family and caregivers are welcome to attend for no additional fee. Programs are offered on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Based on instructor availability, Saturday appointments may also be possible.

Car Seat Check

Lancaster EMS is offering free car seat checks!

Amanda Mutterspaugh, A-Platoon Captain and Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, will guide you through the proper and safe setup of your car seat to ensure your child is safe while riding in the car. The process will take about 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of seats and vehicles to be checked.

The cost of the Program is $0. Yes, it's free! We will also happily accept donations if you are able. All you need to do is schedule an appointment.
